is it bad to relocate a battery in the back of a hatch?
I want to make space in my engine compartment and i want to relocate the battery to the "trunk" of my hatchback and i know there are kits out there but, the kits say " trunk" not "trunk or hatch".
anyone know???

all depends on whether or not you intend to take the car to a drag strip and run it there as they have rules about relocated batteries that require them to be mounted in a sealed, approved battery box vented to the outside of the passenger compartment if the battery is not mounted in a true trunk which is separated from the passenger compartment by a firewall. they also require a master shutoff switch be installed on the rear of the car whenever the battery is moved to the rear.
if you don't plan on going to a strip, then you could move it without the approved box but I would still get some type of box to put it in to keep the acid and fumes sealed off from the rest of the car.
