Default Rocker Q

OK, now that I've decided that I'm going to sell my iron GT-40s as I just bought some GT-40 X 303s, I'm down to debating about the rockers. I'm a little unsure as to what more aggressive rockers, such as the aluminum 1.7 93 Cobra rockers, will do. In other words, I know they allow your heads to take in more air, but will this cause problems with my lovely 95 ecu? Also, does it cause daily driving issues. My car is a DD that I just want toboost up a bit (already made 277 rwhp on the dyno) but I don't want to loose too much of my drivablity, and MPG ratings due to an aggressive *** setup. So will these rockers cause any issues, and or cause my car to eat gas much worse than it does now?

Thanks, any info that can be given will be appreciated. Also, if it's best that I stay with the stock 1.6 rockers, will my stock rockers still be fine with the new heads or would it be best that I just get new rockers (my engine/heads have 122K on them). I am getting new rods.

Depends on your cam, if stock cam 1.7 is good. I have gt-40x's with an E cam and 1.6 rollers. I would not use stock rockers, they flex and are not rollers

I would hardly call that a "aggressive *** setup"

what cam?... depending on lift, 1.7s may cause ptv issues...regardless, i say you dont re use stock rockers, get either 1.6 or 1.7 RRs...

Well I'm not sure exactly what cam my car has to be 100% honest with you. It's either stock, or damn close to being stock. It does have a little trip and bump to it, and a guy I worked with that was sort of a Mustang guru said he thinks it has a very light cam in there as it doesn't have the normal 5.0 idel but......

My very main concern is that I don't want to have "ANY" issues at all because of the cam to rocker ratio. I think I'm just going to play it safe and get a new set of 1.6 rockers. I'm not building a track car here, I'm just adding a little more umph to the car, because in the future, as in after a couple of years maybe unless something drastic happens and I stumble upon that missing boat load of money we all hope for, an 8 psi S/C is going to be installed.

Also, just for reference, do our heads use stud mounted, or pedestal mounted rockers stock?
