when i took my car around the block today i step on the gas about half way for 500ft-600ft then i let off the gas and the RPMS were stuck on a high like 2300Rs the throttle was like stuck it wouldnt let go and at this point im pressing the brakes hard goin like 15-20mphs then i shut it off in the middle of the naborhood and tried to start it back up ...it started up not tuaching the gas and the RPMS shot through the roof like 4000-5000 rpms then i shut it off again and tried the same thing and it happened again......but i finally got it home we waited like 20-30 min tried it again...the rpms were better 1900 -3000then i tap the gas and it seemed to be stuck again the rpms didnt go down then my dad disconected the TPS while it was running and the rpms went down a little bit i think it is maybe the fuel regulater or the TPS...PLEASE HELP GUYS

it sounds to me like your throttle body is sticking or the tps isnt set right, i dunno for sure tho. I had a car do that to me once, the best thing you can do in that position is to actually press the gas pedal not the brakes until it unsticks. Its a little scary isnt it lol.

Uh, did you check the throttle cable and throttle body? Those would be the first things to check. Spray both down with carb cleaner.

Yup, first things first to see if anything is binding. Have one person in the car opperating the gas, the other under the hood watching the cable, make sure they move in unison. If needed, pop the air cleaner assembly off the throttle body, and give it a visual to make sure everything is alright.

yea me and my dad checked the trottle body and the cable they seem to work fine

A bad upper to lower intake gasket can cause a high idle... ( I think only on an SD car )
