Default cats are going back on

I originally put an off road pipe on but I can't stand the smell anymore and want to put the cats back on my car now. I was wondering if I could just take the two big cats off my stock h-pipe and put them on my off road h-pipe? Would having only two on there help myproblem or do I need all four? Would it ruin the two big cats not having the little ones in front of them?

I wouldn't hack up your stock H pipe, those cats are junk anyway. If anything i'd buy some high flow cats, probably ones that are 2.5" to match your new pipe and have them welded in.

I actually run 40's and chrome tips and I also replaced every sensor on the car over a period of a month. The car runs like new and isn't running rich. That is just what I get running no cats. Its not too bad as long as I am not sitting at a light for more than a minute. If I bought some aftermarket cats would it be alright to run them without the AIR tube hooked up to them? Or would it damage the cat?

If u have tails how can u be smelling ur exhaust that much. Check for exhaust leaks??? Do you not have a smog system? I was under the impression that running without an Air tube would hurt performance. I run an h-pipe with 2 hi flo cats. I dont think that you will ruin your cats when u put them back on , unless u somehow slam them off a speedbump or rock.

same here no cats AND im running a little rich and i cant smell anything unless im outside of the car/in a gargage. You either have to be running rich or have an exhaust leak

Highflow cats are usually just straight through, I wouldn't think running them without the air tube would cause a problem, that's what im planning on doing.

I'm with the others here though, I hardly ever small my car and if i do it's only for a second if i'm sitting at a light and the wind is just right, are you sure you don't have a leak under the car? That would cause you to smell it pretty easily if it's in the right spot.

Replace all of your weather stripping around the hatch and doors. Also check for exhaust leaks like Tony said. I dd my car, have no cats, and run a littlerich and don't notice any exhaust smell while sitting at a light.
