Default clutch cable

Right now i have the steeda kit and this issue came up: Im driving to school this morning and ithad to be around 30* outside. im almost there when i push in my clutch and hear an odd pop sound from the general direction of my bellhousing, andmy clutch pedal then felt very weak. i was no longer able to shift gears because i wasnt able to fully disengage my clutch.i was somehow able to get it back home by keeping it in first (i live very close toschool).when i got home itook off the clutch fork shield to see what was up and i find this:

what could have caused this? anybody else have trouble with the steeda cable??

btw....whats a different brand that you guys have had better luck with?

i've had this happen to me 2 times but with a upr cable and a summit cable. i was told multiple things such as the geometry of the quadrant is angled one way to much or something i have not a fukcin clue..i've been running my non adjustable cable threw the middle loop of my quadrant and it works good

I still have all my stock clutch stuff (probably not much longer though) so I have no first-hand knowledge. That being said I have seen a lot of people say that the OEM Ford cable is one of the strongest ones you can buy.

ALL aftermarket/adjustable cables are crap compared to the OEM cable, stronger and thicker

You say you have the steeda "kit", so i'll assume the quadrant and adjuster. Yes, the oem cables are the best and you can use them with the steeda stuff with minor modifications. But still the cable should not have just snapped unless it is a factory default. If you have a multiple hook quad, be sure your on the right one. Other than that i would say your quadtrant is putting cable in a bind of some sorts. It has to be lined up right and shimmed if neccesary.

probably because its a no-name brand lol, if you REALLY want an aftermarket cable go steeda, ford racing, etc, I still recommend an OEM cable though
