GT-40P 1997 1/2 - 2001 Explorer Casting number F77E-AA, "GTP" is cast into the head adjacent to the #1 spark plug hole, "GT40P" is cast into the top of the head between the pushrod holes for the right-end cylinders, this is the only GT-40 head to use the 5 liter H.O. motor's smaller (1.46") exhaust valves.

gotcha was fixin to but a set of gt 40's and just wanted to know the diff but i've got the cobra gt-40's coming soon. jasper, all i was thinkin was when you hold your arrow over the subject it showed a preview of what the topic was about and i hate writing the same question twice one in the heading and again in the post.just seems retarded to me to do that so that's my reasoning.i'll try to think of another way to make us both happy
