Default Somethings wrong

The other day i took my 94 5.0 full head and cam pistons and full bolt ons) about 50 - 60 miles to get back to college. All of the sudden the electric parts of the car start to slowly diminish. First thing i noticed were my lights started dimming, then my gauge needles went from goin 75mph to 0 while im still driving, eventually the car ended up dieing out on the highway, now its probably the alternator but the real problem i have isnt that. I bought a new battery for the car and one of my stupid friends decided to put it in the wrong way, now the car does not feel remotely fast anymore and just doesnt feel the same even with a fully charged battery... i was wondering if anyone has an idea of whats wrong with it.. thanks

if you hooked the batt up backwards... you prolly killed your alt 1st of all... and who knows whatlese by feeding it 12v where it should ground.... sounds like you have some testing to do
