distributor instalation

RE: distributor instalation
will I be able to tell if the cam is broken in by looking at it?
and why aren't cams broken in for you when you buy it?
what does it actually do?
I don't understand how low revving could gall the cam, since the lifters have rollers on them.
could someone explain this please

RE: distributor instalation
Should not be a need for "break-in of roller cam" assuming you lubed it up during the install. The reason for RPM at 2000 to 2500 when first starting with new cam is to make sure oil is being slung onto the cam shaft. The lobes of the cam get their oil from being slung off the crank shaft. The higher RPMs make sure oil is being slung.
