Throttle cable removal?
Ok... now that i'm pretty sure the guy at summit told me to order the wrong throttle cable, i can't even get the old one off.
i unhooked everything but still can't get the cable out from the firewall. i took out the two screws on the engine side and according my haynes manual, that's all it should take. but it won't budge. is there something on the inside of the firewall that i have to undo? i hope i just wasn't pulling hard enough because it's a pain to get my hand up to the cable on the inside.
thanks!

RE: Throttle cable removal?
Gotta get under the dash, theres a round metal clip that fits very snug around the metal brace part of thecable and it's pressed right tight to the backside of the firewall. plus also pop off the white clip from the top of the accelerator pedal.
Use a flat screwdriver and work the round flat metal clip around it slowly pryinit backwords
get under there with a flashlight and seethen what i said will make sense

not really, i've tried that pull very hard method, but it just wont go. as you pull, the little notched teeth on the metalbracket seem to tighten as you pull. My friends did his like that, but took extreme force that i dont recommend.

I've pulled a few throttle cables from the pick-n-pull and found it easier to unbolt the pedal from the body. It'll give your hand a bit more room to get in there.
Good luck!

RE: Throttle cable removal?
How would i go about doing that?
i looked but the only place the pedal is attached is the pivot point... that looked welded and the pin that the pedal pivots on looks pressed in.
at least i'm not sure how i would go about getting it out.. any ideas?
