Heater core restrictor?
In this forum, I've heard some say there is a restrictor that goes into one of the hoses for the heater core. Is this true? Some others have said that the restrictor was a "myth" created in the forums.
What's the deal?

For all I know (admit not to much) folks create those and add to the system, in an attempt to get their heater core to last longer, I have no idea if it works, as I cant see it reducing pressure, just quantity of flow
and another thing, Ive only seen folks use aluminum are they trying to make it be a sacrificial annode? (to take corrosion away from the heater core) if so they might try a radcap instead

Not a myth at all, they were originally put in the SSP police mustangs, but after repeated heatcore failures on civilian cars ford started putting them in all the foxes. There is a Ford TSB about it. The restrictor is ford part number E7VY-18D358-A.
not a myth and they are availible no picture[:@]:

i bought mine from the above link and installed it after reading that they originally came with it. might as well get one, it just might save your heater core. i know after replacing the heater core once i don't want to have to do it again for a real long time.
