stock intake manifold for performance upgrade?
doesthe stock intake manifold on an '83 5.0 4v HOflow well enough to beused for a performance application? say around 300 320 hp. it is equipped with the factory 600cfm holley carb which i will be reusing after upgrading engine internally.

Get a lil performer intake for cheep and maybe a new better flowing carb (not too big tho), Your swagg would be way nice with it after the rebuild.

your holley 600 will be fine for quiet awhile although its probably jetted very lean from the factory. the stock aluminum GT 4bbl intake has extremely small runners, you'll see what i mean when its off the car - they are substantially smaller than the ports on the heads. you DEFINATELY need to upgrade - but your stocker will net you some cash on ebay, probably 50 bucks or so.
look at the wieand model 8124 for low / mid range power, or the edelbrock performer rpm for mid / high end power
