331 forged , cheaper.

351 will take more cash to build , but I like them.

sounds like a ****ed main/rod bearing to me...

start taking it apart i guess... heads/cam should be saveable, and ur intake deff is ok...

so get the stroker shortblock... and use your top end... your cam will be ok for now but id either go bigger, or get 1.7RRs

351 bore .030
sell stock parts put in forged
mild cam for now
gears

get the same performance or better than the 331 and will handle the stress better.

you guys all fail

go for the 390. sure, it would be more work to get 'er in there but how many FE motors do you see in foxes? did i mention in stock form you'd be ripping trees outta the ground with that brute?

heck a customer of ours and good friend has a 67 cougar gt with the 390 and it's not a speed demon but when you mash it to the floor it has gobs of torque!!! it'll blow their 68 cougar with a 302 outta the water as far as torque gos and throw you back in the seat feel..although the 68 is alot faster
