is that enough volts to the cutoff switch, also does the wire from the cutoff switch go directly to the fuel pump or is there another realy or switch?

yeah the switch on my 88 is behind the drivers tail light, you have to talke to panned inside off and it has a little white thing on it, it dose not look like a switch, but it is just push down on it.

its the fuel pump relay under drivers seat. in green/black box, costs about$25
easy fix!!! go to carquest, not autozone, lol

yeah try the fuel cut off switch. its a little red button inside the trunk panel by the driver side tail light. dont know about 1986 but on my 92 theres a hole you can stick your finger through. find it and push it. if it goes down. thats probally your problem if it doesnt, try your relay. should be under the driver seat.

another thing you can check is your battery. when i had to replace my fuel pump. the car sat for a while and the battery was dead and not producing enought power to make the new fuel pump to work. try sticking a battery you have from another car and see if it starts.

the button on the cutoff switch is up, is it suppose to stay pressed in, because when i push the switch down it comes back up.

i think we found your problem. you got to find a way to get that fix so it stays down. did you try pressing it hard

i pushed and held down the button so see if it would work and it did nothing. is there any way to bypass the switch to see if its the problem without messing anything up

i bypassed the cutoff switch, bypassed the relay and finally got power to the fuel pump but it still will not get pressure. the fuel pump will still not come on

get a new cut off switch, the computer will not let it start unless it is working right, even thoe it is bypased it still should not work, it is for safty reasons.
