injector cleaning?

RE: injector cleaning?
Why?
Why pay more for the ones the dealer uses? The others work fine, I have not heard of any problems, fromany of theparts being bad, or not working, or fitting as good as another brand. My brother rebuilds them often at his shop, and has not had a problem with any brand, yet.

Here is a link from the tech links at the top of the forum on how to clean your injectors.

Iuse a Snap-On Fuel injection cleaner. It is a pressure tank you connect to your fuel rail (withfuel pump disabled) and you run the car with a injector cleaning solution/gas mixture.

But why do that when you can just add a cleaner to the fuel itself? It will run through the injectors and clear up the build up. If it doesn't, well you more than likely need a new injector.

RE: injector cleaning?
thats not necessarily true, alot of the fuel additives really suck, but sometimes they can help slightly. either way, it still does not compare to a good fuel injector cleaning from a shop / by hand.

RE: injector cleaning?
Hmm. I can see why hand cleaning is usually better, but I've also never used a "bad" additive. I stick to seafoam and have never had a problem. Its alot quicker too. Im thinking the injector would have to be REALLY clogged for seafoam to not help it out.
