is there any other specific way to install rings other than staggered?

They should come with instructions that tell you how the particular rings should be installed.

why would you want to install them any other way? i mean, i have seen people install them in 1/3 increments, and other people install the top two rings opposite from each other but either way is staggered. i use the 1/3 method myself

k well some guy told me there was a certain way you have to start the first on in which direction you install the piston and i had never heard that so i was just checkin to make sure he was or wasn't full of b/s that's all this topic is about

no there is... well some ppl do it... i cant remember that exactly tho

i know what i do is...

three oil rings-i stager.... and the two top rings i do 180 from each other

you stagger them like everyone says and there are usually little dots on the rings right where they butt together..the dots on the top ring and lower ring face up upon installation
