very fast idle

i am workin on a 88 thunderbird with a 5.0 and its idleing at around1500 and i cant seem to get the idle down. well when i do get the idle down. it has no power.

Have you tried messing with the timing? It may be advanced too much. Take it back a few degrees and then try it.

Major vacuum leak or fubar'ed IAC. Does the idle drop if you disconnect the IAC?.... you may also want to run the DIY KOEO/KOER/Cylinder Balance Self-Test.
