Hey guys,

I'm going to paint my top intake manifold Black, and I wanted to know how hot they can get when the car is supercharged, the engine paint I'm finding is only 500*F, I want to make sure thats enough so that my paint won't get ruined...

There's paint out there taht can handle 1500, keep looking, I'm sure you'll find it.

So 500* isn't enough? The paint that I'm finding thats 1200* isn't glossy though, its flat, I want my intake manifold to have a nice shine to it....

I cant tell you where to get it off the top of my head, but I bet 500 should be enough...

If your intake manifold was 500 degrees you be pumping some damn hot air into that engine!
That paint will work just fine, Dejavu.

Maybe near the bottom of the intake you could put on a coat of the 1200 and then the 500 everywhere else, and maybe over the 1200. Not sure but I'd imagine the manifold wouldn't get near 500.

i dont see why the manifold should get anywhere near 500 unless you have a bad radiator or water pump.

lol, there is no way the upper intake will see 500 degrees. I really doubt it will see 300.
