THIS IS THE OLNY WAY BUY A CAM

http://www.camresearchcorp.com/

FOR OFF THE SHELF CAM I PREFER CRANE BUT COMP, FORD, LUNATI MAKE GOOD STUF

FOR A SREET CAR
KEEP THE DURRATION UNDER 285*
KEEEP THE LOBE CENTER LINES WIDER THAN 112
ON A STOCK ENGIN WITH STOCK HEAD AND CAM TIMMING @ 0 AND DURATION UNDER 280 WITH LIFT UNDER 490 I DON'T ALWAYS CHECK THE P+V CLEARNCE ANEYMORE BUT IF IT HAS MORE THAN THAT I DO

I WOULD SAY THIS IS A MEADUIM HARD JOB YOUR FIRST TIME BUT AFTER YOUR THIRD TIME YOU CAN DO IT UNDER 3 HOURS

thanks for the help. those numbers and stuff still mean nothing to me but im sure the website will help. i also dont know if all the timing and whatnot is all stock. He gave me a list of the mods that he did and that is what i listed above.

Lunati is great, i have a luinati cam and i love it, but they are expensive, mine cose 295.00, if i was you i would save for heads and a cam, and put it togeather at the same time, i got new pushrods but their the sames as stock just hardend. and for a lil cam info a lot of lift is ok as long as your valve springs will take it, and you dont have any clearince issues, the more duration the harder it will be to drive, but it will make more power, mine is a .522 lift intake .522 lift exhaust and a .268 intake dur .272 exh dur, a 110 lobe sep, so its not to bad it will buck a lil when running 2nd or higher and trying to run anything under 1700. it is a more on the hard side job, just put your bolts and nuts and everythin in seperat boxes, like keep the intake bolts and top end stuff togeather, and put the timing cover bolts and all that in another box, keep it clean, and dont rush, you will forget something.

wow. i should really look into that. ok a question. i have several engine mods already. they are pretty much as follows:
yea, im in love with it from the second i saw her. Its a black 1990 mustang GT 5.0 25th aniversary edition. I'll list the major mods on it right now:

TrickFlow Track Heat upper and lower intake

Mass air meter (65)

BBK mass air flow

373 ford gears

MAC longtubes

MAC h-pipe and mufflers

new battery, wires, cap, alternator

all new front lights (all 6)

new water pump

new radiator

new shocks

new steering rack

Ok, is getting new cams going to have any effect on these mods? What i mean is, will i have to change these mods depending on the cam? Are any of the mods going to conflict with a new cam? Or can i basically find a nice cam, bolt her on (so to speak) and be done with it? I have no knowledge of cams so treat me as a total newb in this subject! Thanks. the more info, the better!

It will def make a difference with your headlights

i know this is probably impossible but can anyone link me to a cam and say "you should get this one"? Of the mods that i listed above, are any of them going to limit my selection?

well, based on my surrent mods and the fact that it is a daily driver. I want nice sound and acceleration but dont want it to be really hard to drive. its a 1990 mustang gt 5.0.

well first it has 1 cam..2nd the intake is a mis-match...sure it's a track -heat because the rpm range I thing starts around 2500 or so...it's pretty much useless unless you buy a bigger maf like a 76mm
i agree with him you need to look for another intake
and maybe a E303 cam
