battery wont keep charge?
so i just got back from college, (stang had been sitting for about 3-4 weeks) and i start the car up no problem, i drove for about a half an hour, went to Jimmy Johns, and when i came out the car barely had enough juice to prime the fule pump, AAA came and jumped me i came home, installed new struts, started it up, and the volt reading was barely at 8, and the blinker went really slow along with dim lights. I just got a new battery about 1-2 years ago along with a new alternator at the same time.....any iideas guys?

I would say that your battery wont hold a charge. If the alternator was bad, it wouldnt be able to run after you got the jump. But get them both tested. If one goes, usually the other is right behind it.....

you could still have a messed up alt and run it. there are 3 coils in the normal alt. it is very common to break just one of them and produce around 1/3 the power. what kind of batt and what alt did you get?

RE: battery wont keep charge?
im trying a trickle charge first since it was sitting for so long in the cold, then if it still doesnt seem right im going to take the battery/alternator to autozone/NAPA tomorrow

dont need to bother doing it yourself really. any autozone offers free battery checks (and free code checks) I love that place haha they'll just hook it up to a machine and it'll either say "bad" or "good" its really simple.

YOU CAN CHARGE YO BATTERY START THE CAR AND LET IT RUN AND THEN DISCONNECT THE BATTERY CABLE(WHILE CAR IS STILL RUNNING) IF IT TURNS OFF THEN YOU HAVE A BAD ALTERNATOR, OR YOU MAY HAVE A BAD SOLENOID, WAT YOU CAN DO IS HAVE SOMEONE TRY TO START THE CAR AND WHILE IT TRYS TO CRANK HAVE SOMEONE TAP THE SOLENOID, OR JUS CHECK ALL CABLES AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS IN GOOD CONDITION SO YOU DO SPEND MONEY ON AND EXPENSIVE PART THAT YOU DONT NEED
