White build up on Distributor cap
I have this white build up on the insdie of the distributor cap on each metal connection ... im getting a new cap but is this normal or is my wires and plugs causing this?
That's normal. Spark travels from the coil wire through the cap terminal, through the rotor center button to the rotor side tip, and to each cap terminal as it rotates, sending the spark to each cylinder back out the top of the cap.
If you're low dough for now, just scrape the inside cap terminals clean and re-use for a while.
I've been there before.

that's the normal erosion of the cap terminals that occurs after many miles of driving and the spark jumping the tiny gap between the end of the rotor and the terminal in the cap. just replace the cap and rotor with new ones and you'll be fine.
