Default What do I need?

What valve springs and valves do I need with a F303 cam? Everything is stock on my engine now except for the exhaust!

Thanks for any help!

HACKGT350 is right. The F303 cam is way too aggressive for the E7 heads, probably too aggressive for GT40 heads. As much as you probably don't want to hear it,you really need a diffesent set of heads for that cam. In fact, the stock cam is too big for the E7 heads. If you're on a budget, it would probably be better off to sell the F-cam, and buy a set of GT40 or GT40p heads, and you'll see instant gains. If you're dead set on using the F-cam, you'll need to uprgade to some Twisted Wedge, or AFR heads to see any gains.

You will see plenty of gains with gt40s, despite what many will have you believe you dont need to get only trickflow and afr heads to gain any horsepower at all.

hmmmmmmmmmm got one in my 92 4cyl conversion to 5.0 and it works just fine.....and it is not all that aggressive of a cam......my comp xe282hr will blow the f-cam outta the water....and you can use an f-cam on e7te heads. just don't expect earth shattering gains..like the other said a ported set of gt-40's would be a nice complement and even better a set of aluminum heads but if your budget doesn't have it in it for such here are what you need to make the f-cam work on e7's:

and you'll need to grind a little on the stock rockers if you intend to use them if you want roller rockers then you'll need pedastal mount ones

no....you can clearance the baffle inside the stock covers or what I have done is doubled up on a valve cover gasket and glued the two together or better yet edelbrock sells a double thick gasket for such purposes

mjr46, I'm not in any position to disagree, you know a hellava lot more than I do, but wouldn't something like a B-cam, perform better with the stock heads?, or even with the GT40 heads?. The F-cam seems to have too much lift and duration for the flow numbers on either of these heads?. I do know from past experience, that "over camming" a motor is one of the most common mistakes made by the do-it-yourselfer's.

the aluminum gt-40x??? if that's what you mean and they have 1.94 intakes then yes you should be fine and not have to flycut the pistons...just check ptv to be sure upon assembley
