bout lost my car
well...before i put my car up for the winter i was having problems with my headlights n taillights flickering off n on while going down the road..figured id put a new switch in in the spring..took the battery out for the winter n that was that...well first time ive ever seen around 45 degree weather on christmas day n the snow was all gone so i go out take the cover off to make sure everythings still dry under it n figure ill pull the switch...get it out n get the plug off n wow..its toast...apparently one of the prongs on the switch got Realllly hot n melted the connector n the wire going from it about 1 1/2 inces away from the connector...my question what should i do...i doubt i can buy that connector from napa or anything like that or even ford...am i just gonna have to find a junkyard car n cut the connector off the harness n put it on mine?...i know i need a new switch too to keep it from doing it again...but i was wondering about the connector on the actual harness....on a plus...car didnt burn up but i think if i had kept driving it much longer it might have..the wire was pretty burnt up..and this explaines what i smelled burning the one night in my car...looks like next time that ever happens i should investigate sooner

RE: bout lost my car
ok man ya im used to soldiering n heat shrinking wires...i seem to be the one who everyone in my town comes too for cd player installations..and ive never been a fan of crimp connectors or the twist locks...so i usually just soldier it n shrink it..so sounds good thanks for the help...idk what the deal is but my car seems to be goin all at once...i just found out a month or so ago that my brake light switch did the same thing..its just unhooked so at the moment dont have break lights.but sittin in my drive way for 3 months thats not gonna hurt anything..ill fix that in the spring too lol...damn 14 year old wiring lol
