Default Question about trap speed.

Ok, I have my new M/T drag slicks ready for a test & tune session this Saturday. Is it true that my trap speed will be lower than when I had street tires?
Last year, I had 2:73 gears with a 7.5 rearend and street tires and ran a best of 13.57@104mph with 60' times between 2.2 and 2.3
Now I have rebuilt 8.8 with 4:10's and added subframes.
A friend tells me that my trap speed will be slightly lower with slicks.
Is that true? I'm expecting to be in the 12's now and 12 second cars don't usually that low of trap speed. I was hoping to be around 107-110mph.
What do you guys think? Any predictions?

your trap speed will come down a little bit but not due to the slicks, it will be due to the gear change from the 2.73 to the 4.10 gear. you will get off the line much better with the 8.8 and the 4.10's, but the top end speed will be down a bit from last year since the car will run out of gear sooner at the top end. my best top end speed with 3.73 gears was 100.50 mph but once I changed to 4.56 gears the best top end is now 98+ mph.
