Depends on how far you want to go with it. Just the items you mentioned? I read in MMFF that just by removing the interior and scraping off the sound deadener can save a bunch of weight, just in the deadener. I dont remember the figure, but I THINK it was around 300. Dont quote that, I'll look for the article.

this may not be an option cause of money but replace the front seats with lightweight racing seats. also relocating the battery makes better use of weight.

Wow that is impressive going from 3940 to 3200....that is what I am doing with my project 89 gt resurrection....I have the car stripped down right now.....ordered rear seat delete kit...going to relocate battery to trunk....get rid of stock k member in favor of lighter drag member (save 28 lbs right there)....sound deadener, spare tire in the trunk....will be getting lighter rims, aluminum driveshaft, etc in the future....IF ANYONE KNOWS OF SOMEONE WHO NEEDS STOCK 89 GT PARTS SEND THEM MY WAY CAUSE NOW MY GARAGE IS FILLED...NEED TO SELL THEM ASAP....to compete out there especially on the drag you gotta trim the fat....I wish I could ride my car but right now it is all stripped down....might be awhile before it is completed but it will be worth it and I know that I will be competitive

Is the sound unbearable when driving along tho?
If that sound deadening weighs as much as you stated, screw that.
It's gone!

But how bad would it be for a daily driver?
Drive about 30 mins each way to work.
and where ever else I may go.

there ain't no 300 lbs of sound deadening material in a Stang. if you took out every last ounce of it, you might lose 100 lbs. but no way could you lose any 300 lbs. you need a heat gun and some good stiff putty knives or a gasket scraper to remove most of it although some of it is not stuck all that tight to the metal of the chassis and will peel right up. you can remove the side panels in the rear and remove the insulation panels behind them and then reinstall the panels so the interior looks stock. and taking out the rear seats along with the seat belts and reels will get rid of about 75 lbs. or so. I got my '88 GT down to only 2,985 lbs without me in it but I removed a lot of other stuff too and have lightweight racing wheels, etc. but no fiberglass body panels.
