Default Crane hi-6 problem

After installing the crane hi-6 ignition box the car starts for a split second then dies every time. I cant seem to figure out what the problem is, im starting to think the thing is defective. Any ideas of what the problem could be? I am about to send it back to summit and get a MSD 6al instead if i cant figure it out.

The car is a 92 notch original 4 cylinder auto, now with a 306 and 5 speed.

Recheck your wiring, it sounds like it may be connected wrong.

Before you get to upset with your purchase call their tech support.Have a few friends run the crane system and all are happy with it.

ORIGINAL: 92notch306

It is wired exactly how the instructions say so I'm sure it is connected correctly.
Has it run before or is it a new set up?
Is it firing when you have it in crank then shutting off when you let go of the key?
Are you positive that it's the ignition, that you loose spark?
Can you bypass the ignition box and get it to stay running?

Its a fairly new setup, but the car runs perfect with out the ignition box. It fires up starts to idle and dies before i get a chance to let go of the key.

Make sure you have power with the key in the run position to the thin red wire of the ignition box. It sounds like you may have hooked it up to the s-terminal/hot in crank only.

Well that sounds likethe problem. Your only getting juice to the ignition box when in crank mode.
Review your installation instructions.
They are available at cranes site.
You should have the heavy positive and negative wires connected directly to the battery.
