Are all T-5 trannys the same?

Are all T-5 trannys the same?
My 5.0 '95 5-speed is showing signs of wear.... harder to shift, especially to first, sometimes does not want to come out of gear, synchro crunch from time to time.
I did a quick local search on CL and found several t-5 trannies, but 1 was labeled as a Chevy t-5 out of a 1991 camaro v6, so I wanted to know if all 5-t transmissions are created equal. If not, is there a list somewhere that tells me which will fit my 5.0?
Thanks for any help in advance.

no you need a mustang t-5 and the only two years that are a dirrect swap for your sn-95 are 94-95 t-5 mustang tranny..if you use one for a fox body you'll need to swap the input shaft from a 94-95 to the fox t-5 and 4 cyl mustang trannies are weaker and have a smaller pilot tip on input shaft.....

My 4cyl tranny has held up fine from low 13's to high 11's and its not even a world class t5.

hey that's enough out of the peanut gallery!!!.......I was just making a statement of fact according to advertised torque capacity rating of 240 ft lbs for 4 cyl ones vs 265 and up for 5.0 t-5's..I have used a 4cl tranny in my 92 for a short while but I didn't like the close ratio of the gears and the OD that felt like a road race tranny

OK next quick question, how hard is it to swap the input shaft from my old t5? Or maybe I should ask, how long should it take once the tranny is out?
As I'm understanding this, any Fox platform 5.0 t5 up to '95 should fit my '95 with input shaft swap and plugging the neutral switch. Are all 5.0 t5s equipped with the same gearing?
I wanna just upgrade, but I'm not sure if I can afford that right now. Eventually I'm shooting for 400 whp.
Thanks,
