Default quick questions

so yesterday i just did some stuff to the mustang just to tune it up a little better since i havent really worked on it since i got the top end put together.

i thought it smelled pretty heavy of fuel so i pulled the plugs on all cylinders. the first plug on both sides of the block look perfect the other 6 plugs are kind of dark and smell heavy of fuel. my timing is set at 12* running 92 octane. am i one tooth off or something? MAF sensor is clean since i just recently switch test tubes to the c&L.

at idle it seems to be reallllly quiet and when i get on it it accelerates decently and then when it hits 3500 rpms to 5200 it feel like it get a kick in the *** and accelerates just a little faster. any ideas???

I'm not familiar with the specs on the b cam but that could be the reason your feeling kick in the *** at higher rpms. My cam with 1.7 rr has a lift of 625/661 and from about 4k and up it's like a shot of gas.

valvetrain is matched to cam I assume??...without going for a ride it's hard to guess if it is normal or not..a dyno tune may help also to get thespark and fuel tables properly matched to the neccessary rpm band/range

we had the car dyno'd and a/f ratio is 13 to 1 all the way through the rpm range 1500-5200. 1500 below its like 17-1.

any reasons why 6 of the plugs are fouled and 2 look perfectly fine?

also im not sure if this has anything to do with my problem but if im in like 2nd gear and pump the gas a couple times around 2-3k rpms i might get a small backfire. and its just a popp popp sound not like a huge bang! backfire.
