Fuel Pump ?'s
I think my fuel pump is going bad, the car loses fuel pressure slightly when you rev it and the pump whines rather loud. Well my question is- Will it be ok to install a MSD in line electric fuel pump and leave the stock pump in the tank? The car seriously feels like it is running out of fuel in the upper rpms. Thanks Guys

RE: Fuel Pump Question- Need help asap
i dont know much about your situation, but if the stock pump stops working then no fuel will come through and then it will not run at all. the msd would keep the pressure up untill it ran out because the stock pump can not supply the msd inline.

RE: Fuel Pump Question- Need help asap
i can only see what its doing while it is sitting and I rev it by hand and look at the gauge that is mounted on the regulator, i cant see my gauge while driving. Will the 2 pumps be ok though- I think the MSD pump puts out like 38 or 42 psi or something like that

No, do not install them both, make sure to remove the old in tank pump before installing the MSD. Don't be lazy when it comes to fuel delivery, it only takes a couple hours to drop the tank and remove it, plus you are going to be down there putting the in-line pump in anyways.
It sounds like your pump is going bad. Make sure you remove the in tank like I stated previously, and since you're there already, just replace it with a holley 155lph pump in tank which will supply your needs nicely. Have fun!

RE: Fuel Pump Question- Need help asap
i can really tell a major power loss in the upper rpms, it feels just like its running out of fuel. i still havent reset mt tps. it is at 1.00 volts, it would not cause this problem would it? I know a guy who has a new fuel pump- its like a 155lph or 190lph- he said i could have it for $50. I need to find him and buy it. I also have an extra stock pump. should I just use it and save the $50 bucks? Will a stock pump handle my engines needs with h/c/i/injectors and so on? Will a bigger pump make any performance diffrence?
