thats what it looks like. instead of a timing chain.
idk, i just heard a 302 with the noisy of the 2 in it and thought it sounded cool.
idk what i will do, they are pretty expensive though.

ah thought so, nah, you'll be fine with a chain, you're better off using the money for something else

its the machining that made it grenade. like someone else said in this thread, formula uses them and spin 20 grand. i doubt a measly 4 grand cuased it to pop. and to the guy saying that theres no need for it on a street car, its preference. for the arpm we use for, there is no gain. its just the noise people want
ORIGINAL: my77stang

well, mine had a helping hand since my block was line honed and it made for an especially tight fit. it DID go together and rolled over smooth so i thought "meh, that'll fly"....... well i got schooled[8D]
noise doesn't make you go faster ...you can have the "bark"..I'll have the "BITE"

this is what my gear drive sounds like. i personally think its pretty unecessarily loud and kinda annoying. i'm going to end up changing it since i think its just too much. as you can tell from the vid its louder than my exhaust which consists; of long tubes, prochamber and flows. going thorugh drive-thru's i have to shut off the car cuz it echos off the wall or the ordering board thingy (whatever you wanna call it) another thing that i dont care bout it is that its hard to hear other noises from the rest of the car. you cant hear any valve train or anything. take it for what its worth

Here is a video of my gear drive....its a quiet one. I installed it last year but the car has basically been sitting since then because I hadn't had time to work on the body work and paint. The paint is now almost done and looks like glass.
