Default GT40 CRATE ENGINE

My engine in my 88 GT is getting tired, and I was looking at the 345hp GT40 Crate motor, it will take some time saving up for it since its around 3300.00 but I was just wondering if anyone has the GT40 crate and what there opinions are on it.

I have a GT40 crate in my car, I didnt do the swap but the previous owner did. I dont know if its the 345HP version but it packs a nice punch even after mine has been beaten with nitrous.

i have the 345hp gt40 crate engine and im dropping it in this weekend. So if u want a "first hand experience" opinion...ill let ya know on Monday. I have some pics of it still in the crate here. "The one with the box is only to give u an idea of how much room you'd need, if u want to store it for a little while."

Would you reccomend one of those crate motors over just doing some AFR 165's and a custom cam on my stock block? I dont know what kinda condition its in.

Im not sure yet bro...im gunna wait until this weekend to make any decisions, cuz i was thinking about getting some afr's and cam. But i didnt want to worry about mismatching anything and have a chance of something not working correctly. With the crate engine i could just drop it in and ride!. But if u bought something like this, u could always unbolt the gt40 alum heads, sell em, then get some afr's. And plus, i ddint want to put some decent power adders (heads, cam) on a block that has 100,000 miles on it, u know.

well the e-cam is recommended for supercharged application per summit and ford motor sports.
I have the b-cam and i don't drive in the 3300-6000 rpm range all that often, id rather have the ecam cause the range is 2500-5500 and you only lose 5hp between the two.
