if it is a '90 and HAS an armrest, it was added later , no '90's came w/ one , and you are correct, the only year not to have one
no need for a kit really....the blank pops off, the armrest pops on
i'm 95% sure the color will not match good though, the older ones are darker and i think the newer ones are lighter, you can probably paint it to match though
the newer ones MIGHT be the same color though
