Opinions.. 2.1 KB or Vortec?
i'm building an H/C/I 302 supercharged. Street driven, looking for 500rwhp. Just looking for some educated opinions. Already have entire freshshortblock and heads, i have a good chunk for the S/C, i just cant decide!!!

I am going with KB. The air induction is actually quite a bit cooler than a centri super charger, which is why the KB does not require a intercooler. ALthough you can still add a meth injection system for cheap and forget about "heat soak". KB's are very efficient and simple. Which is why I will be buying a KB in the near future to mount atop my fresh 331

Typically, the KB will provide more low end power, and the vortech will supply more top end power. IMO, a V8 mustang doesn't need near as much help on the bottom end as it does on the top end, especially on the street. Hell, a stock 5.0 can melt the tires off the rims because of V8 torque; it just falls on its face up top. So, for the street, I say go vortech for the top end power. More bottom end = more tire spin.

thats another thing i dont understand. people are always like if i add this its going to kill me low end torque. Typically you would want to kill it so your not spinning.

how about an aftermarket block? cause 500rwhp wont last long on a stock block

The KB is instant boost, and it stays that way all the way throughout the RPM band. So you get raw power on bottom end, as well as on top. There is no waiting for it to spool as there is with a turbo or centri.
If you are a bracket racer, opt for the centri because of obvious traction issues, if it is just a fun street car, the KB is where it's at 100:1 IMO.

Where are you getting your info? A centri is around 20+% more efficient then a roots/screw charger. The air charge from a centri is cooler then the roots because of that. The KB doesn't require a intercooler because their kits come with low boost options. You will need a intercooler on a KB before you will need one on a centri. The Kenny Bell will also max out way before the centri as well. Not to mention the cost difference between the two. The only upside to the KB is the instant full boost, though as others have mentioned, that can suck as well.
