I wouldn't spin a stock rotating assembley to much above or past 6000 to 6500 for any extended period of time......I spun mine up to 6800 in 1st and 2nd but then again I had forged rods

I shift my 306 at 7200, all with the stock block, crank and rods. Everthing was gone over, heat treated and balanced to hold it together a little better than stock.

strong rod bolts, a balance job, and pistons that dont weigh a ton will let you wind it up pretty high

Accurate balancing, ARP rod bolts, and going light as possible is always a positive.

A strong and lightweight and valvetrain is needed as well.

My buddy spins his car to 7200rpm with stock bottom end. He makes 360hp n/a on stock bottom end. The car has held up for 2 seasons so far.

I would decide which one you are going to do and how are you going to drive it.

Are you going to drive it all four seasons or that one particular "season"?
