Default Charging problems

So two days ago I turned on the car and heard a grinding noise for about 1 second. It being so short I didnt really give it any mind. I drove to the gym with lights on, worked out for about an hour, and then started the car and drove home no problem.

Its about a 5 minute drive to and from the gym. Just as I was getting home I noticed somthin different with the car, it sounded a slight bit different and there was more vibration felt through the pedal and shifter.

Yesterday morning battery was completely dead, not even enough charge to light up the dome light. I had the battery checked and it was in good condition.

Any idea what could be causing me to feel vibration as well as lack of charging? Im wondering if my one year old alternator siezed up or somthin.

I love having serious problems with my car every month.
