You can shorten them and dump them like stated earlier but take this into consideration. If not done correctly the exhaust will heat up your rear axle and gears causing added friction due to added heat. This causes seal's and part's life to decrease...along with performance.

I would just continue to look on ebay...find another person that has 5.0's or just ask around this or other forums. There is always people upgrading their existing upgrades....which means their junk is your gold.

If you are impatient i would just buy some brand new ones... Or just go to a local hardware store, buy some metal pipes and find someone (if you can't) that can weld. The cheap way.

i just welded on new mufflers without changing the whole catback and my car runs great and sounds good too
