I have a 87 notch 5.0 five speed, and I have a vibration atmid rpms through every gear. I know its not my tires because speed doesn't effect it just rpms. I thought it was my u joints but I cant get any play out of them. I think it might be an out of balance drive shaft. But I would like some opinions. Has anyone else had this problem? My 91 GT has the same problem. Do these 5.0's have this problem? Also could it have to do with my transmission?

 

Does it do it when the vehicle is not moving? Check your harmonic balancer.

 

no it is only in gear when it does it. neutral rev it doesn't do it. So I know it is something with my drivetrain. But I was wondering if it is a common problem since my 91 aod does the samething. Since the aod does the same thing i didn't think it was my t-5 in my notch. But you never know.

 

Take and rotate your driveshaft 90* and see if it does anything. Also get your rear tires balance just for good measure so you can eliminate that. That shouldnt cost much.
