serious problem!!! Need help with crate engine!

Did you double check that the timing is correct and you are getting enough fuel and spark?
If so than pull the valve covers and spin the enginge over by hand carefully.Did anything hit then or did it roll over smoothly?
With the popping sound i would say possible timing issue. By the way, who installed the timing chain? are the dots facing each other?

im doing it today when we get to the yard....thanx alot for the responses!!. I was thinking maybe its the oil. It was shipped with oil and it wasnt supposed to!. So im gunna drain it and put some 5-30 in it. Then ill check the valves and rockers like u guys said. This sound sucks!!!!.
What about the firing order??

yo guys, everythings is okay now. The clanking sound went away after the oil change and keeping it at 2000rpms for while. This engine sound like a damn drag racer!!!. Hella loud!. Thanx yall!!!
