Default Fuel pressure advice

Allright, I just got a BBK adjustable regulator. I'm running a stick 5.0, except I have an FRPP B-cam and headers/off road h-pipe/mac cat-back and 14 degrees of timing. With the stock regulator, my fuel pressure was around 29psi at idle, and would jump to 35 at WOT. I know that ain't right, but I was wondering what other people have for fuel pressure, I have read that it should be around 40, what do you guys have? Thanks.

the fuel pressure is supposed to increase as the vacuum drops at WOT to supply more fuel to the injectors. stock pressure at idle is supposed to be in the 35-38 psi pressure range, so I would adjust yours up some to this range. Personally on my SD '88 at the strip, I jacked the fuel pressure up to 42 psi at WOT and it worked good for me there with the stock 19# injectors on a basically stock engine.

My stocker is at about 28-29 psi at idle as well....why the 35 to 38 psi at idle?

better atomization of the fuel leaving the injectors at the higher pressure. the O2 sensors will monitor and the ECU will adjust the injector pulse width opening time if necessary to keep the air/fuel ratio in the correct range per the programming in the ECU.

disconnect the vacuum line, that simulates WOT.
