What mark should the timing light read on the harmonic balancer?

Stock timing is 10 degrees. Bump that chit up to 13-14 though!

if you bump it to 13-14, you'll most likely have to run premium fuel.

14 degrees is where my stock 5.0 is set at. Works well.

best is to run 87 octane on 12* if you can...read the plugs and power tune it at the track by mph

advancing timing makes hp, higher octane loses hp , so going high then using premium you might not need....negates the whole works

but stock is 10* to answer your question.... 10* btdc not 10* atdc

10-0 is atdc 0-20 is btdc

10 degrees is stock and bump from there to where it won't ping/detonate at 14 degrees you may have to run premium fuel
