If you dont want to spend the money just install heads as is. Porting is not just getting a grinder and removing metal, their is a right way to do it. Myself, i would not attempt to. We did have a guy here that tried to do some porting and he butchered the poor things. Some of you may know who i'm talking about.

^^^If it's just carbon build up...spray some brake clean in there until it washes them clean if the heads are off the car

lmao haha. yea i know i got a price of $795 for that. i just dont think im looking to spend that right now. and theres a machine shop by me ANR MACHINING, they charge about the same. i just have to think if i want to pay shipping or do i try someone that i dont know the work they do. I just know of them since my friend works there.
Most head porters charge $1000 for a full port and polish on average. Thumpers prices are a super bargan, and I believe the $795 cost is with the up graded valves and springs.
