RE: Car is hesitating and making popping noises
mine did this as well and after doing a complete tune up, and fixing blown head gaskets and nearly ever other gasket possible, mine still did the same hesitation and popping. granted i had a lot of things go wrong at once but in the end the hesitation came from my fuel pump going bad. i just finished replacing it yesterday and havent had a problem yet. just another suggestion. so i would definitely check the fuel pump.

You know mine is doint the same and still doing it... Now why mine i think is doing it is because i just changed out my intake for stock OEM my old stocker was rotted in the back. I know aluminum cant rot... Who ever told you that is a F**king lier cus i have proof it can... any ways i changed everything out and put timing back where it was and it started doing it....Now when i took out the injectors i broke 1 pintle cap "nipple on the bottom of the injector" and replace that one with a new pintle cap from a 92 and it had a slightly different shape and slightly wider hole for spray. now i think the fuel in that cylinder is spraying differently then the others.... Maby to much gas in that 1 cylinder wich would cause a back fire threw theintake or tail pipe. I have the new caps coming this week. Ill post if it does or doesnt fix... If not im moving to fuel filter then pump after that its a new motor.

Check your spark plugs. You can also check the wires at night by starting it in the dark and see if you see any arching. It does sound like fuel system....I'd lean toward the fuel pump...if your filter was dirty, you can bet the pump has seen some of that nastiness.

FUEL PUMP! Any bucking or popping would indicate a lean condition. Trust me, the fuel pumps love to go bad on these fox bodies. Grab a walbro pump and i bet that fixes your problem.
