You very well could have.

So how did it go??

You had a noise with low oil pressure at idle
The yahoo at auto zone told you to put in dyno syrup
The noise got worse/stayed the same and now your oil pressure is nothing all the time after changing again to straight10w30?

If this is correct - distributor and pan must come off.

There is no Gatekeeper. Only Zuel.
There is no mechanic in a can. Only ignorant canhead mechanics.

You wouldn't put a Band-aid on a gunshot wount and I wouldn't put in thicker oil to get higher oil pressure. Thats like putting sawdust in a trans that slips.

From now on: Motocraft 10w30 straight with a good filter changed every three months OR three thousand. No ifs ands or buts about it.

If your oil pump screen is clogged you should replace the pump anyways because the pump needs lubricant. Check your pushrods because you just have to loosen up the rockers enough to pull the rods out. Roll each rod on an even surface, if the pushrod is good it will roll straight and lay perfectly along the surface. If the pushrods are bad, replace them. I would still check your oil pump and make sure it is not clogged regardless if it is the pushrods or not.

There is no majical fix. Your gonna have to start checking things yourself. Start with taking off the valve covers to see what's wrong.

Prepare yourself to start tearing this motor back apart. When your low on oil and start hearing lifter noises, usually, you destroyed the roller bearing on the lifter its self, and scratch the main and rod bearings resulting in low oil pressure.

Replace the bad lifter for the noise.

If little to no oil pressure , then inspect the main and rod bearings, if you found a bad lifter, inspect the camshaft lobe it rest on.

If the crank was not turned to remove the scorns, oil pressure remains low.

Didn't read ALL the replies here but Is the car an auto or stick? If stick put light pressure on the clutch pedal and see if it goes away. The throwout bearing is NOTORIOUS for mimicing valvetrain noise.
