Check Engine light
Hey guys, my 95 GT's Check Engine light has been coming on intermittantly, and I cant determine what causes by watching when it comes on. I was wondering if there is an error code reader I can get, and what brand. I have noticed that sometimes under hard acceleration, it kinda does a little hiccup where for a split second, acceleration is lost. Then it goes on like nothing happened. I noticed this problem in my old 89 Cougar SC, it turned out to be a bad MAF. Any ideas?

My car did that hiccup too - it went away when I got my new MAF.
Any auto parts store will have code pullers you can buy (but they're expensive). Perhaps you can find a shop that'll pull the code for you?

Yea check to see whats throwing the light first, cause that problem can be cause by alot of things, from a misfiring cylinder to maf to o2 sensors or bad egr valve... the list goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on

OK guys, I pulled out my trusty voltmeter, and it turns out that my MAF is getting a steady 12v at idle, and my manual says it stupposed to get only .5-1.5, does that mean the MAF is bad, or something else? Also, the voltage doesnt change when I goose the throttle, it stays the same.
