I hope someone can help. We have a 95 mustang gt, stock, 5sp, with 122,000 miles on it. The problem is...the check engine light is on but no codes can be read. When the light comes on the rpm's are over the place and it will eventually stop running if it is idling. We have checked the vacuum and it is fine, we have installed new plugs, plug wires, pick up rotor, pcv valve, and ignition module.

Can you give me any help as to what is going on with this car and what we need to be looking for

Same thing has just happened to me so I think that you're in luck. Although I don't understand why the computer wont get any code, did you try turning the car off and on again while the computer is hooked up? Anyway, I bet that it is your EGR Valve, a common problem at over 110,000 miles. My car was lunging a bit while driving, idling fast, and sometimes would quit. If you have headers, that could be the problem as well, with the EGR not being hooked up right or not getting enough gas. Try replacing the EGR. You can search around online, the lowest price I found was 104$ with tax from s ford dealership, Motocraft makes the one that I put on.
