Default Random Hard starts

Randomly my car i say every 1 out of 10 times i start the car it takes like 5 or 6 cranks to get it to start. Its weird like the car isnt getting any fuel or something and then when it starts its like real low sounding and then finally goes to normal.. Does anyone have any suggestions?

before you start it, do you first turn to key to the run position and wait a second or two for the fuel pump to come on and build up pressure??? if not, try this and see if this helps.

Default RE: Random Hard starts

I had a problem with my starter, and it was cranking, but taking a long time to start the engine. RPM were also down during start. Then I find out my starter is going out and had to replace it. The give away for me, besides the people at this site telling me what was up, was my starter working worse when the engine was warm.

But if your temps are always cold when starting, I wouldn't know what the problem would be; the only thing I could think of is a bad connection, but that wouldn't account for the starter cranking but no firing.

See if there is anything different about that one time it doesn't want to start. Maybe after a certain amount of miles/after refueling...but if its going random, then I'm at a loss.

The only other thing I could think of is slightly clogged injectors, or a low spark. Sorry I can't help more/at all.
