Hey everbody- could this be the idle cure.
I was at my friends house the other day and he told me i needed this to fix my idling cause its the only thing that fixed his. Has anyone ever used this part before: Heres a link so check it out and tell me what you think. it goes between the IAC and the TB. There are other auctions for the same thing and they also talk about it eliminating the ever so popular "surging" problem.

Yes, I have one and took it off because it made my idle hang. But each car is different, and I haven't put it back on since I sorted out my problems. It does help with the surging and stalling issues, so again its a trade off [8D]

right, when revved the idle would hang at about 1500 then 1200 then 1000 and finally 800. It would hold for 2-5 seconds at each rpm level before finally going to 800 where I have it set.

dan before you start with this.....you can make this on your own! if not i'll have it done at work in our tool room!!
to me that's a waste of money!...by the way alot of people i know drill a tiny hole in there butterfly or make the one they already got
a little bit bigger...in doing this it helps the idle by adding more air to your fuel

Your just making your IAC manually adjustable is all. I personally wouldnt drill holes in the butterfly on the TB, thats a one shot deal you mess it up your buying another one. Again that was my application and I tried it before I sorted out my issues with running poorly and rich. I took care of the running poorly but the rich is still there, although not as bad. Sunday I took my car for a long ride, about 30 miles. After driving it for a while I noticed its running much better, and even has some nice street manors. Where as before it ran good but would "cam out" alot under 2000 ( jerk and buck from the lope of the cam). Now its pretty smooth and I can take off from a dead stop without having to feather the gas and clutch to make it smooth. The point im trying to make is this, the ECU is adaptive and when you reset it it has to relearn everything again. This can take a while, so maybe driving the car more will help some of the issues you are facing. Thats if it is driveable at all....
One more thing, before you go toss more money at it with the idle bypass and other things. Check with me I have a box full of good parts I changed out in my effort to fix mine. I will gladly mail you the bypass and my good pick up coil if you suspect them and want to try it.

Sunny Florida here, definently try the ECT. How do you like the edelbrock heads? Were they in good shape as cast or did they need cleaning up? Next up on my plate is the tranny then suspension mods to hook what power I have before adding more.
