simple question can an arcing spark plug or three cause a tick???

 

Yes if it is causing a misfire but a simple solution is to find out why it is arching, old wire, burnt, and fix the problem to see for sure.

The CDI box on my bike got soaked one time andwas misfiring... it sounded valve-train related but turned out to be a simple misfire.... only problem between that and your issue is I felt and could see the misfire, from your previous post you have not described and thing like a shaking or erratic idle.
