I have a stock shifter and ya it looks ugly but is that the only thing a new shifter will change? I dont understand what else could change, they are both metal...
your boot covers your shifter the only difference is other ones might be a different type of polished metal or have some color on them and they can be short throw which owns
B/S i changed my 5 speed to a hurst shifter and it is tighter i can shift faster and yes it self centers plus it does look better. The shorter the throw the faster the shift..
A short throw shifter raises the pivot point, so you dont have to move it as far to shift. They usually have adjustable stops on them too, so when you slam the gears you dont damage anything by going too far with it. They are kind of pricey though for what they do.
wtff, only its more than just new shiny metal, the HANDLE may just be shiny metal, but the shifter itself usually have a spring loaded third so you dont miss.
i have a hurst in mine and i cant get the plastic cover with boot on it to snap back down, it hits the top of something under the dust cover, anybody know what this is and what to do so i can snap my cover back down
i have a B+M Ripper i picked up for like $75 bucks. It made a helluva diffrence, it was all sloppy before but now its tight. im sure you pervs will enjoy that comment.
