speed density

RE: speed density
Is yours an 86 like you name says? If it is you don't have speed density so you don't have to worry about it.(As long as its the stock setup) You have the earlier EFI called CFI. If you really want to know about speed density look at the top of the 5.0 page and go to the SD and Carb section.

RE: speed density
S.D is good but if you want a nice cam it doesn't accept it as well, MAF is a cheap conversion if you buy the parts seperate. You need a computer, mass air sensor and the plug with 4 wires, its actually pretty easy to do. But if your staying stock s/d is actually better cause MAF robs a few horses

Hate to inform you Justin but 86 is SD.....85 WAS THE last year of cfi and was only used on 84-85 stangs...Sd uses a MAP sensor and Throttle position sensor to calculate load in order to determine fuel mapping needs...the map sensor works of a vaccum signal to calculate load which is calculated via Map and sent as an input to ecm which inturn working together with TP, ACT AND ECT AND O2.....FUEL INJECTOR PULSE is determined.....A MAF equipped car uses a mass air flow sensor to calculate the rate/speed of air entering to calculate load and adjust fuel mapping accordingly
