Default Recipie for a 350-375hp 5.0?

Alright guys a just sold my 98 GT, and I wanna start a foxbody project. I am a 4.6 guy and dont know much about the 5.0 in terms of price of parts and all that. What would I need to make a 350-375hp 5.0. Can someone make a list of what I would need, and how much it would cost including cost of motor to start with and all. Just basicly how much it would cost to build that motor, with what parts.

well you could do up the cobra/explorer intake w/the gt-40 heads and exhaust and all for 350-370. but if you just sold your 98 you should have more $ to play with. a nice HIC, maybe rebuild and stroke? suspension next? rear end set-up what?

H/C/I is a good choice if you plan on sticking to that HP range and are on a budget. If you have a bad block, and some extra cash, then a rebuild bored over with some forged internals might come in handy down the line. I say if you find a good 5.0 bottom end, H/C/I should be about what you're looking for.

welcome to 5 liters. Parts are cheaper and easier, your car is lighter, and your gonna go faster. bore it to a 331 and do a trick flow top end package and if you still need to go faster. Depending on how much you have for your new projectget a stock fox for around $4,000 and dump $5,000 into parts don't forget suspension.

If you're planning to get 350-375 hp, you're going to need a lot more than just an H/C/I swap. If you have some money to throw aroung I say you get a good 5.0 block and bore and stroke it to 331 or 347 and then do the top end. You will be a little higher in power than you wanted, but I haven't heard of anybody wanting to slow down their fox, its always faster.[8D]You can get the block done for like 2000, use the stock ECU and fuel system and ugrade it with necessary pumps and injectors and MAF for about another 1000, and then a trick flow top end kit for about 2500. You'll be plenty happy with that for a while. This is assuming you do all your work and the rest of the car including drivetrain and suspension, is all able to take the abuse. Have fun.

are we talking 350-375 to the crank or wheels? if its to the crank, a real nice h/c/i should get you there...if you're talking to the wheels, and you are keeping it a 302..then you'll need h/c/i and f/i of some sort..

How much would a 347 stroker shortblock cost? And at a fork in the road on deciding what to do, either build my own motor which I want to do or my nieghbor showed me a motor he would sell me. Hes got a older 302 that he was plannin on putting into his 68 fastback until he lost the body of the car due to his garage burning down. But he said that the motor was just redone, chrome piston rings, double valve springs, cam, stuff like that. He said he would let it go for 3200 bucks. What kinda horse did those older 302's have. I saw the motor i dont know what year it is but it was blue and had like a older style brushed aluminum valve cover that said cobra on it. Also would it be cheaper for me to buy a 4 banger fox and build that or, find a nicer 5.0 with alot of miles and just drop a new motor in it.
